Nicole Nottke, MSW
Hi, I’m Nicole Nottke, an MSW therapist who believes in the strength within every young person. I’m here to walk alongside children (10+), teens, and young adults as they face life’s challenges, grow through adversity, and discover their own capacity for resilience and self-love.
My journey into social work was deeply influenced by my own experience of being adopted and learning to navigate the positive challenges that come with it. Now, as a therapist, I’m passionate about creating safe, compassionate spaces where young people—especially those who are adopted or in foster care—and their families can feel truly seen, heard, and empowered to grow.
I work as a full-time school social worker, where I specialize in supporting students’ mental health as well as their academic and emotional success through special education services-- IEPs, and 504 plans. In this role, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with students, families, and school teams to advocate for the support each student needs to thrive.
Clinically, I support individuals who have experienced domestic violence, the impacts of trauma, loss, and grief (including ambiguous loss), adoption and foster care, anxiety, depression, and school stressors. In my therapy practice, I draw from a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), bibliotherapy, and sensory-based interventions. I also integrate creative, evidence-based methods such as art, music, play, and family therapy to support expression and emotional growth. I’m especially passionate about working with youth in foster care, adoptees, and their families, helping them process complex emotions, build resilience, and reconnect with their self-worth and facilitating support groups for adoptive and foster families, creating spaces where shared experiences foster connection, healing, and hope.
Whether we’re having a deep conversation, getting creative in session, or working through tough emotions together, my goal is always the same: to create a warm, safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered to grow into your most authentic self.
