Curt Neargarder
Hello! My name is Curt Neargarder, and I am currently completing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. I am passionate about exploring each individual’s experiences through a holistic lens by considering the mental, social, cultural, spiritual, and physical aspects that shape their unique journey. I believe every person has the capacity for growth and healing, especially when supported in reconnecting with their most authentic self.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether walking, backpacking, hunting, fishing, or playing frisbee golf. These moments in nature help ground me and remind me of the importance of living a balanced and connected life with myself, others, and the world around me. When I’m not outdoors, I enjoy time with my energetic German Shepherd and five wonderful nieces who always keep life interesting.

Professional Approach
Life includes seasons of both joy and hardship, and in difficult times, the support of a compassionate listener can make a meaningful difference. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe to show up fully as they are, without fear of judgment. It is a privilege to witness each individual’s story as they walk the courageous path toward healing, resilience, and self-compassion.
I believe in the wisdom of your emotional experience and that you are the expert on your life. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you make sense of overwhelming emotions and relational patterns, while empowering you to trust your inner voice and cultivate self-compassion. My approach is grounded in presence, connection, and deep respect for your unique journey.
I am committed to fostering an authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationship, grounded in empathy, humility, and genuine care.
Professional Skills & Supervision
I am committed to ongoing growth in both my personal development and professional skills as a clinician. Under the supervision of a licensed professional counselor, I provide thoughtful, client-centered care informed by collaborative insight and clinical best practices. I remain dedicated to continuous learning and refining my ability to support clients effectively and ethically.
Modalities
While still expanding my therapeutic toolkit through training and supervision, I work from an integrative and person-centered framework. My approach draws from relational, emotionally focused, and holistic perspectives, always tailored to meet the needs and goals of each unique client. Additionally, I incorporate elements of Motivational Interviewing into my approach.
