Coming Home To Your Body

If your body feels tense, numb, or unsafe to be in… you’re not alone.

For many women, disconnecting from the body was a brilliant way to survive trauma.

Many trauma survivors learn to live primarily in their heads.

Your mind keeps working.
You function.
You get through the day.

But your body might feel:

  • Disconnected

  • Shut down

  • Constantly tense

  • Overwhelmed by sensation

  • Difficult to trust

But over time, many people begin to notice the cost.

You may feel detached from your emotions.
Grounding yourself may feel difficult.
Your body’s signals may feel confusing or overwhelming.

Coming Home to Your Body is a supportive, trauma-informed group designed to help women gently rebuild a relationship with their bodies.

Not through pressure.
Not through forcing change.

But through curiosity, safety, and choice.

This group offers a space to slowly reconnect with your body,  at your own pace.

Reconnect with your body in a space that is safe and intentional.

Healing your relationship with your body doesn’t happen through pressure.

It happens through safe experiences, supportive relationships, choices, and gentle curiosity.

Discover

What We'll Explore Together

Over six weeks, we’ll gently explore ways to reconnect with the body while prioritizing choice, safety, and nervous system awareness.

Together we may explore:

  • How trauma impacts the nervous system and body

  • Learning to notice sensations without overwhelm

  • Gentle grounding and regulation tools

  • Somatic awareness practices

  • Rebuilding trust in your body’s signals

  • Self-compassion for trauma responses

  • Shared learning within a supportive group

Participation is always an invitation, never an expectation.

You are encouraged to move at a pace that feels safe for you.

Why Group Work Can Be So Powerful

Trauma can feel incredibly isolating.

Many survivors quietly wonder:

"Is something wrong with me?"
"Why does my body respond this way?"

In a supportive group environment, many people discover:

  • Their experiences make sense in the context of trauma

  • Others share similar struggles

  • Healing often happens in safe relationships

You don’t have to navigate this alone.

Healing happens in connection, which happens in groups.

About the Facilitator

Coming Home to Your Body is facilitated by Jenn Bovee, LCSW, CRADC, CCTP II, CCHt, EMDRIA Certified Therapist & EMDRIA Approved Consultant, a trauma-informed therapist who works with individuals navigating trauma, chronic stress, and disconnection from the body.

She believes that many of the ways our bodies respond after trauma are intelligent survival strategies, not personal failures.

Her work focuses on the connection between the nervous system, emotions, and the body. She is passionate about creating spaces where people can explore healing with curiosity, compassion, and choice.

Jenn understands that reconnecting with the body can feel vulnerable or unfamiliar, and she approaches this work gently, supporting participants in moving at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

Her goal in this group is to help create a space where participants can better understand their bodies, reconnect with themselves, and feel less alone in the process.

A Comfortable, Supportive Environment

This group is held virtually, so you can join from the comfort of your own space.

You might show up:

  • In yoga pants and a messy bun

  • In pajamas with your pet nearby

  • Wrapped in a blanket on your couch

  • Fresh out of the bathtub in sweatpants

There is no expectation of perfection.

No pressure to perform.

Just come comfortable.
Just come as you are.

What Participants Often Take Away

Each person’s experience is unique, but many participants leave embodiment groups with:

  • Increased awareness of body sensations

  • Greater ability to regulate their nervous system

  • More compassion toward themselves

  • A deeper sense of grounding and presence

  • Reduced shame around trauma responses

  • Meaningful connection with other women

Healing your relationship with your body takes time.

You don’t have to do it alone.
