Sheri Bettis, MSW Intern

Hi! I'm Sheri Bettis, a compassionate MSW intern dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and communities through evidence-informed, affirming care. I work with clients ages 16 and up, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space where personal growth, healing, and meaningful connection can take place.

As a lifelong resident of McLean County, I bring a deep understanding and appreciation of our local community to my practice. Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with my adult children, my spouse, and our two corgis.

Professional Experience

My professional journey began in education, where I taught middle school students and later mentored future educators at Illinois State University. These experiences helped spark my passion for emotional well-being and deepened my belief in the power of empathy, communication, and resilience in all relationships.

My clinical training is grounded in trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and a strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcome clients of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship structures.

Professional Skills

I have a special focus on working with individuals navigating PTSD, anxiety, female relationship codependency, and vicarious trauma. I'm also deeply passionate about helping couples strengthen their connection and find deeper fulfillment, and I hold a particular interest in supporting men through the lens of positive masculinity.

I strive to meet each client with warmth, authenticity, and respect, using a strength-based approach to support their goals and growth. Whether you're working through personal challenges, navigating complex relationship dynamics, or seeking to reconnect with your purpose, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and wholeness.
