Oluwatodimu Ogunade, MSW Intern
I am a Master of Social Work intern at Illinois State University currently completing my clinical training at The Mental Wellness Center. My path to this work is personal…growing up in Nigeria, I saw the gaps in mental health care access, and as a child I struggled without the support I needed.
That experience is what drives me to help young people feel seen and supported today.
Therapeutic Approaches
My therapeutic approach is warm, compassionate, and individualized to each client's unique needs. I primarily utilize Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Family Systems approach.
Philosophy of Care
My approach centers on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where people can be honest about what they are going through. Outside of my clinical training, I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes.
I am glad to be part of The Mental Wellness Center team and look forward to supporting people as they navigate life's challenges.
